Next Gen Stem Cells
NextGen Stem Cell BMC
NextGen Stem Cell BMC devices concentrate the adult stem and progenitor cells found in bone marrow. Doctors can then use the bone marrow concentrate where they believe it can help a patient, commonly in cases of arthritis and joint pain. The NextGen BMC Plus also provides optional plasma concentration.
The NextGen Stem Cell BMC system processes autologous bone marrow aspirate at the point-of-care. It includes two devices: NextGen Stem Cell BMC and NextGen Stem Cell BMC Plus. This system produces bone marrow concentrate effectively and efficiently in a variety of settings. The NextGen BMC and BMC Plus devices recover the highest percentage of nucleated, progenitor and other cells of any comparable system on the market.
This system is a miniaturized laboratory in a single-use sterile device. The back chamber may be used to store the platelet poor plasma without breaking sterility.
The NextGen BMC devices have multiple ports to accommodate the fewest sterile breaks possible. This helps protect valuable recovered cells from circulating air contaminants.
The built-in back chamber allows operators to add platelet poor plasma (PPP) back to the bone marrow concentrate (BMC). This makes it easier to deliver exactly the volume the doctor needs. Operators can accomplish this without adding a sterile break to the process.
Nurses participated heavily in the design and development of the NextGen Stem Cell BMC System. Their input is one of many reasons NextGen Stem Cell BMC is the best, easiest-to-use bone marrow concentration system on the market.
What’s In Bone Marrow?
Bone marrow contains many different cells and proteins capable of helping tissues heal.[1]
- Hematopoietic stem cells
- Immune cells
- Mesenchymal stem cells
- Platelets
- Platelet-derived growth factor
- Vascular endothelial growth factor
The NextGen Stem Cell BMC System puts the power of these cells and proteins into doctors hands in the form of bone marrow concentrate (BMC).
NextGen Stem Cell BMC Plus | Adult Stem Cells and Plasma Concentrate
The NextGen Stem Cell BMC Plus system does everything its sibling does – plus – it allows concentration of plasma proteins. The NextGenStem Cell BMC Plus features an integrated filter system. This system allows the ultrafiltration of proteins from platelet poor plasma.
Ultrafiltration enriches the concentration of valuable plasma proteins, including:[1]
- Alpha-2 Macroglobulin (A2M)
- Interleukin-1 receptor antagonist protein (IRAP)
- Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF)
- Platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF)
- Transforming growth factor beta (TGF – beta)
- Fibroblast growth factors (FGF)
- Fibronectin and Fibrinogen
A2M is a powerful natural plasma protease inhibitor.[1] It can help stop the progression of Osteoarthritis (OA) by preventing degenerative cartilage breakdown and assisting with cartilage repair. A2M captures and helps destroy proteins that feed into arthritis including matrix metalloproteinases and pro-inflammatory proteins. By decreasing inflammation, A2M may help decrease pain and allow local cells to repair cartilage damage.
Features of the NextGen Stem Cell BMC and BMC Plus Devices
- Advanced Safety Features: The functionally closed system minimizes sterile breaks.
- Fast, Flexible Processing: You can process 50 to 60 mL of bone marrow aspirate in <20 minutes, and deliver 3.5 to 10 mL of concentrate, all at the doctor’s discretion.
- Real-World Tested: The adjustable thumbwheel and optimized shape accommodate the wide variability seen in point-of-care bone marrow aspirate samples.
- Ultrafiltration: The NextGen Sim Cell BMC Plus has integrated nanoporous fibers for filtering the platelet poor plasma to further concentrate cells
